25 Jan 2018: We expect a stampede for this one: how better to celebrate summer, and farewell the school holidays, than a cool blast of summer desserts? Every kid loves desserts. Luckily for parents, the menu is not completely packed with sugar, although Ruth says to be frank she does forsee some sugar involved!

Aimed for 9-14 year-olds, the kids have free range of our kitchen, wrapped up in a generous apron, under the watchful eye and guidance of Ruth and the chef team. They get recipes, utensils and ingredients, and make everything from scratch. Often the most fun comes at decorating time. Note to grandparents – this is a terrific gift, and has stimulated an interest in food and cooking for many a keen young kid. There are lots of repeat participants.
