Description
20 APRIL 2017: Every kid loves to find home baking in the tins. This is the grown-ups turn to get the kids doing the baking. Which mouth-watering Kiwi classics will it be … ANZAC biscuits? Chocolate slice? Banana cake? Afghans? Shortbread?
These kids’ classes have simply exploded in popularity, with a big helping hand from TV cooking shows. The deal is that Ruth and her chef team show 9-14 year olds what to do, give them an apron and let them at it, with a patient guiding hand where needed. We love hearing “I can do it!” and the sense of achievement our mini-sized chefs get is heart-warming. We send them home with samples of their work, and recipes, so the next generation of home bakers is happy and competent. An important life skill, delivered with fun and anticipation. We supply everything.
